The mayor even recorded the arrest of the barangay official, and had posted this on his Facebook page on Monday, March 23. The post has since gone viral.

The official, who was not named, was shown admitting in the mayor’s footage of receiving money in exchange for the quarantine passes.

This gave rise to suspicion that the official was allowing one family to get one quarantine pass in order to circumvent the ongoing community lockdown in the town.

Mastura ordered the arrest of the barangay chairman despite the latter’s offer to return all the monetary consideration he got for the quarantine passes.

The arrest of the Sultan Kudarat barangay official came a day after the chairman of Barangay Mantapoli in Marantao, Lanao del Sur was likewise nabbed for selling quarantine passes to his constituents.

Arrested was Cassir Abinal who was allegedly selling the quarantine passes for P20 each.
