The Manila Police District (MPD) is investigating a police officer who was caught in a video throwing expletives and hitting with what appeared to be a wooden stick a resident who was allegedly not following quarantine measures in Quiapo, Manila.
MPD Director Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda said in a text message that he already ordered an investigation into the matter.
“He will face an administrative sanction on his wrongdoing,” Miranda added when asked by the Manila Bulletin what might happen to the officer.
In a 40-second video uploaded by DZMM on Twitter, a personnel wearing fatigue uniform was heard saying: “Lahat ng lalabas ng walang oras, babarilin na.”
“Bakit oras ba ngayon?…Putangina matigas ulo mo. Umuwi ka,” the uniformed personnel added, while hitting a man several times.
According to DZMM, the incident happened at Muslim Town in Quiapo, Manila. The video was uploaded Thursday at 9:53 a.m.
