The Department of Health (DOH) said that P1 million assistance will be given to families of health workers who will succumb to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
At least six doctors have already died amid the fight against the dreaded disease, according to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
As of now, the DOH is gathering reports from all hospitals and we will see to it that all health workers, who sacrificed their lives in order to take good care of our patients, will be given proper recognition),” said Duque in a press briefing.
(To our health workers who died while battling the COVID-19, the government will provide P1 million assistance for their families),” he added.
Meanwhile, the government will also provide financial assistance to health workers who will be infected with the novel coronavirus.
At kung magkaroon sila ng severe infection, bibigyan po sila ng P100,000 upang may panggastos sila sa kanilang karamdaman (The PhilHealth will shoulder their medical expenses if they get sick. If they will have severe infection, they will be provided with P100,000 to support their medication),” said Duque.
