Classes in Sorsogon suspended for 30 days due to COVID-19

SORSOGON CITY – Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudeo issued an executive order Sunday noon that classes in all levels, both public and private, in the entire province will be suspended for 30 days.

Escudero said that, starting March 16, to April 15, classes will be suspended, including school activities such as, but not limited to, graduations, moving up exercises, recognition rites, and similar events, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Meanwhile, Department of Education (DepEd) Bicol Regional Director Gilbert Sadsad ordered early ending of regular classes in the region.

He said that final examinations should be done Monday and Tuesday, after examinations, students will no longer report to school and will stay home to study and prepare necessary school requirements.

Teachers and other school officials will be on call, while checking of test papers and other school related matters will be done at home.
