She also urged her constituents to postpone assemblies as well as social gatherings, particularly with senior citizens and children in attendance.

“Sila ang sektor na may mataas na posibilidad ng pagkakasakit mula sa COVID-19,” said Abalos in a social media post over the weekend.

The mayor called for the cancellation of scheduled events for the celebration of feast day in every barangays in Mandaluyong to avoid the convergence of people in one place.

Children and students who are experiencing flu-like symptoms should refrain from attending their classes for the meantime and immediately consult their doctors for proper medications, Abalos said.

Public places such as shopping malls, parks, grocery stores, churches and other public and private establishment should also use thermoscans and provide the public with disinfectants.

Abalos said there is no confirmed case of COVID-19 in Mandaluyong.

“Ang ating lungsod ay handa sa banta ng nasabing sakit at patuloy na magmomonitor sa mga kaugnay na kaso nito,” she said.
