ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo provincial government started implementing Friday a stricter policy for those who wish to enter the Iloilo Provincial Capitol as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was after Atty. Suzette Mamon, Iloilo provincial administrator, issued a memorandum with only two main entrances: at the main Capitol building and the Casa Real de Iloilo, which is the old Capitol building.

Aside from requiring IDs, anybody coming in will be checked with a non-contact infrared thermometer check to check their temperature.

With this procedure, the Capitols’ security personnel and Emergency Responders of Iloilo (E-ROI) are conducting Rapid Health Assessment (RHA) of all people entering the premises.

Based on the memorandum, visitors or clients observed with symptoms such as fever, colds, cough will be given surgical mask for precautionary measures.

There’s also going to be rigid questions if visitors or clients have visited COVID-19 positive countries such as China, Hongkong, Macau, South Korea for the past 14 days or have any close contact with people who had travel history in those areas.

The provincial government is asking for understanding from the public as they implement these new policies.
