ILIGAN CITY – A twenty-five-year-old woman was arrested by elements of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), led by Police Captain Khuzaimah Pantaran, and personnel from the City Intelligence Branch (CIB), and Iligan City Police Stations 3 and 4 in a buy-bust operation conducted at 2nd East, barangay Tubod Rosario Heights here, Wednesday, February 26.
The operatives identified the suspect as Najmah Cabib Angantap, a resident of Bangon, Marawi City. A large volume of illegal drugs was bought from her in a buy-bust operation.
Confiscated from the suspect a medium-sized and two large sized plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated street value of P600,000.
Police Major Abogado Mautin, Jr. said the suspect was a newly identified drug personality, as no record was found on any previous involvement in the drug trade.
Angantap was brought to ICPS-4 and cases for violation of R.A. 9165 Art. II, Section 5 and Section 11 were being prepared for filing in court against the suspect.
City Director Police Colonel Michael Pareja lauded the operating units for this big accomplishment.
“This large amount of illegal drugs would have circulated in the city if authorities did not catch this big-time drug suspect”, he said.
