BUTUAN CITY – A fish vendor was arrested in a buy-bust operation for allegedly having P23,000-worth of illegal drugs, police official reported Wednesday.
According to Metro Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) City Director Col. Canilo A. Fuentes, elements of BCPO-Station 3 and Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) of Agusan Del Norte arrested the suspect identified as Roland D. Ecol, 48, through a buy-bust operation at Purok 6, Barangay Ambago, this city Monday Night (Feb. 24).
Operatives confiscated three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of two grams and valued at P 23,600, and the two P500-bills used as buy-bust money.
“We are now preparing cases for violation of Section 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 for filing at the court,” Fuentes said, while adding: “I would also like to commend the efforts of the operating troops, may everyone continue giving out their utmost support in eradicating the proliferation of illicit drugs”.
