Good weather will prevail across the country today while the northeast monsoon continues to affect the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its latest weather update on Thursday, PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring cloudy skies with light rains to parts of Luzon and Visayas, particularly over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Panay Island.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected, also caused by the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, due to the surge of the amihan, PAGASA raised a gale warning on the eastern seaboards of Northern, Central, and Southern Luzon, the western seaboard of Northern Luzon, the southern and western seaboard of Southern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Visayas, and the eastern seaboard of Mindanao.
With this, strong to gale force winds are expected on the coasts of Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon (General Nakar), Polillo group of islands (Panukulan, Northern Burdeos), the northern and eastern coasts of Patnanungan and Jomalig, northern coasts of Camarines Provinces, northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes, eastern coast of Albay (Rapu-Rapu Island and eastern coast of Batan Island), eastern coast of Sorsogon, and the northern and eastern coasts of Samar Provinces.
