San Narciso Municipal Police Station report identified the victims as Patrolmen Millan Kenn Parco and Kennedy Piamonte.

Around 8:40 a.m., Parco and Piamonte were conducting mobile patrol in Barangay San Juan when an undetermined number of suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels opened fire on them.

Their attackers quickly fled to a forested area of the village.

The policemen were immediately brought by villagers to the San Narciso Municipal Hospital and have been declared in stable condition.

A joint police and military operation is now being conducted to pursue the rebels.
