The Manila Public Information Office (PIO) said half of the donation came from the city mayor’s talent fee from Novuhair, while the other half came from his talent fee from KJA Food Summit Corp.

The Manila City government also extended P2.5 million in financial aid to five municipalities in Batangas that were badly hit by the calamity — Talisay, Taal, Agoncillo, Lemery, and Laurel. The funds were sourced from the city’s local disaster risk reduction and management fund.

A large part of Southern Luzon is still buried in ash after Taal volcano, a popular tourist attraction and the second most active volcano in the country, belched out ash clouds a week ago.

Domagoso, a former actor, also donated millions of his talent fees last year – P5 million to help earthquake victims in Cotabato in November, and P1 million to Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in October for the benefit of children suffering from cancer and patients with liver disease. He also raised millions more in private sponsorship for PGH.
