This was announced by MMDA General Manager Jose Arturo Garcia in a press briefing at the agency’s headquarters in Makati City, Wednesday afternoon.

“We expect that this parade will be the longest parade in the history of the MMFF.  We expect it to take around eight hours,” he said.

Garcia said that this year’s parade route will be 15.2 KM long, which is more than half of 2018’s route. Last year, the parade was only 6 KM long.

Meanwhile, Garcia appealed to the public not to disrupt the parade on December 22, so that the parade will go smoothly.

“Let us not block the floats of the MMFF entries. We are asking the public for their cooperation,” the MMDA general manager said.

According to MMDA, the parade will begin at exactly 12 noon from Lakeshore C-6, right turn to M.L Quezon Avenue, left turn to MRT Avenue, then right turn Cuasay, right turn to CP Garcia (C-5) Service Road, then left turn to Upper Mckinley Road, right turn to Lawton Avenue – 5th Street, right turn again to Mckinley Parkway, left turn to 32nd Street, left turn to 7th Avenue, right to 26th Avenue, left turn to 5th Avenue, right turn to LeGrand Avenue and Chateau Road.

Garcia said there will be road closures along ML Quezon (from Dr. A. Santos to MRT), along MRT (from M.L Quezon to Cuasay), along Cuasay (from MRT to C-5), and in C-5 Service Road cor. Cayetano Boulevard.

“Counterflow vehicles will be allowed along Upper Mckinley Road from C-5 to Lawton Ave.,  Lawton – 5th Street from Upper Mckinley to Mckinley Parkway, and along 32nd Avenue (from Mckinley Parkway to 7th Avenue).”

The “Stop-and-Go” traffic scheme will be implemented on C-5 – Upper Mckinley, C-5 Service Road – Sampaguita bridge, Mckinley Parkway – 26th Avenue.

Those roads affected by the parade will be opened around 7 p.m., Garcia said.

MMDA said there will be eight floats that will be joining the parade, carrying the stars of the MMFF 2019 official film entries.
