The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is deporting three Chinese fugitives wanted by authorities in their country for economic crimes and large-scale fraud.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the aliens were arrested recently in the cities of Parañaque and Pasay by operatives from the bureau’s fugitive search unit (FSU).
Morente said he issued the mission order for their arrest on the request of the Chinese government which is seeking their deportation so they could be prosecuted and tried for their crimes.
One of the fugitives was identified as Xu Xiaojun, 34, who is wanted for involvement in bank credit card fraud and defrauding many of his compatriots of millions of yuan.
Last Nov. 29, BI-FSU agents arrested Chen Yao Lin, 26, and Lv Mingwei, 33, who are allegedly involved in internet fraud. Their victims incurred losses of more than US$2 million.
A detention warrant was issued against the two by the municipal public security bureau in Wuxi City, Jiangsu province, China.
Morente said the three will be deported as soon as the BI board of commissioners issues the order for their summary deportation.
