A 19-year-old girl was raped by a mask-wearing burglar who broke into a house and carted away more than P2 million worth of valuables from an exclusive subdivision in Parañaque City on Thursday morning, a belated police report said on Friday.

Police Corporal Mary Ellen Ramos, case investigator, said the burglar gained access by destroying the padlock of the gate around 2:30 a.m. at an exclusive subdivision in Barangay Don Bosco.

She described the burglar as a medium-built man, wearing a full-face mask, clad in a sweatshirt and pants.

“The burglar arrived in front of the house aboard a motorcycle. He destroyed the padlock of the gate, but we are still not sure what he used,” she said in Filipino, citing a closed-circuit television camera footage outside the house.

He then used a tree branch to pick the keys placed near the window of the house.

Ramos said the victim and her sibling, aged 19 and 21, were inside their respective rooms on the second floor of the house.

The robber first went to the room of the 21-year-old and hogtied him. After that, he took his belongings and went to the room of the 19-year-old girl.

The 19-year-old was awakened when the burglar started groping her body.

“She tried to fight him, but she was threatened that he would kill her once she resisted his sexual advances. The victim said he had a gun,” the prober said.

Only the nanny and two siblings were inside the house during the burglary.

“The parents of the siblings were away as they working when the burglary and rape occurred. Only the nanny was there, but she was sleeping inside her quarters near the house when the incident happened,” Ramos told the Manila Bulletin.

The burglar then fled away aboard his motorcycle which he parked in front of the house of the victims.

Police itemized the stolen items as two luxury watches–Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet—(P1.9 million), two Mac laptops (P180, 000), two iPhones, jewelry (P90, 000), a DSLR camera (P100, 000), and P25, 000 cash.

Police said they are still probing the incident, and that they are having a hard time identifying the burglar because he was wearing a full-face mask.
