A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Nagtipunan, Quirino at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and its epicenter traced 14 kilometers northeast of Nagtipunan, Quirino with a depth of 60 kilometers.
Intensity IV was felt in Nagtipunan and Maddela, Quirino, and Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya while Intensity III was felt in Baguio City
Phivolcs also recorded the following instrumental intensities:
Intensity II -Palayan City
Intensity I – Baguio City
Due to its depth, Phivolcs said it was not expected to cause any damage to property. No casualties were reported as a result of the tremor.
