A week after Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso unveiled the newly-painted and cleaned Lawton underpass, Lagusnilad underpass was vandalized with messages of protest.

The walls of the underpass, which is regularly used by students of schools located in Intramuros, Manila, as well as the employees of the Manila City hall, has been painted with red phrases like “PRESYO, IBABA! SAHOD, ITAAS! – PS” ; “DIGMAANG BAYAN SAGOT SA MARTIAL LAW – PS” at “ATIN ANG PINAS! US-CHINA LAYAS! – PS”.

Manila Tourism and Cultural Affairs Bureau expressed their disappointment after seeing the vandals written all over the walls of the underpass.

In a Facebook post, Panday Sining said that they will conduct a series of “Graffiesta” to call for the end of de facto Martial Law in the country.

It can be recalled that Domagoso shared photos of the newly-painted and cleaned Lawton underpass last week.

The city engineering employees repainted the walls and cleaned the tiled walls with high-pressure water.

Aside from the painting and new lighting, they also repaired the road with asphalt concrete for the motorists’ safety.
