3 drug suspects busted on All Saints’ Day in QC
Three drug suspects were nabbed on All Saints’ Day after yielding at least P170,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
Arrested in the drug sting cast by operatives of Quezon City Police District’s Project 4 Police Station (PS-8) were Michael Cabildo, 29, a resident of Taytay, Rizal; Mark Delos Reyes, 42, of Barangay Tandang Sora; and Michael Castellon, 46, of Barangay Laging Handa.
PS-8 officer-in-charge, Police Major Bernardo Pascua, said the suspects were newly identified drug personalities involved in illegal drug peddling in the area.
Personnel of PS-8 Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust against the group inside a hotel on Benitez Street, Barangay Kaunlaran.
An undercover cop posed as a buyer and transacted with the suspects resulting in their arrest.
Seized from the three men were 21 sachets of shabu amounting to P170,000.00, some drug paraphernalia such as syringes and glass water pipe tubes with traces of shabu, two digital weighing scales, and thd mobile phone used by the suspects in the transaction.
The arrested suspects are now under police custody and were charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (By Alexandria San Juan)
Police on the hunt for suspect who shot 2 traffic enforcers in Paranaque
Police are still hunting down the suspect who shot two traffic enforcers after they tried to flag him down in Parañaque City.
Skyway Patrol officers Rexie Talingdan, 30 and Ronnie Delos Santos, 46, were injured after an unidentified man driving a motorcycle fired at them.
Investigation showed that the victims were manning the traffic along the southbound lane of a skyway of KM13 in Bgy. Sun Valley around 7:45 p.m. Thursday when the incident happened.
Police said that Talingdan tried to flag down a man wearing a green jacket and red helmet onboard a motorcycle without a plate number as he was traveling along the skyway where he was not allowed.
But instead of yielding, the suspect sped off, prompting Talingdan to chase him and seek help from Delos Santos who he saw along the skyway.
The traffic enforcers chased the suspect and cornered him at the place of the incident after fell on the pavement after colliding with Delos Santos.
The lawmen were about to accost the suspect when he immediately pulled his gun and shot the victims before speeding off towards Bicutan Skyway exit, police said.
Two pieces of fired cartridge case of .99 caliber firearm were recovered by Security Officer Supervisor, which was then turned over to the police for forensic examination. (By Joseph Almer Pedrajas)
Alleged member of Sputnik Gang nabbed
An alleged member of the Sputnik gang was arrested after allegedly entering the Tierra Santa Cemetery in Navotas City while drunk and causing public disturbance Friday night.
Police identified the suspect as Rhyan Tampus, 37, resident of Barangay San Jose, Navotas City.
Investigation showed that at about 8:20 p.m., a concerned citizen told barangay officials that Tampus, who seemed to be under the influence of alcohol, was causing trouble.
When authorities came to the area, the suspect reportedly shouted curses at them repeatedly and hurled hard objects at them.
After he was arrested, Tampus was brought to the Navotas City Hospital for medical examination and was later turned over to the Navotas City Police Station.
The arrested suspect will be facing charges for violation of Article 155 (Alarms and Scandal) of the Revised Penal Code. (By Minka Klaudia Tiangco)
2 robbery suspects nabbed in Pasig
Police have arrested two robbery hold-up suspects after they allegedly robbed three women inside an apartment building in Pasig City Friday.
Colonel Moises Villaceran Jr., city police chief, identified the suspects as Michael Mendieta and Ruel Peralta. Both suspects are residents of Barangay Kapasigan in Pasig City.
Villaceran said the suspects robbed the victims at gunpoint while inside their apartment in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City on Friday afternoon.
The duo then took the victims’ laptop, two cellphones, a pair of shoes, bags, and a wallet, a police report showed.
After the incident, the suspects quickly fled on board a motorcycle with the stolen items while the victims called the police for assistance.
Policemen then launched a hot pursuit against the fleeing suspects and eventually caught them along Rosal Street in Barangay Kapasigan at around 5 p.m.
Authorities recovered the stolen items from the suspects. Also seized from them were two hand grenades, a gun replica, and a black motorcycle they used as a getaway vehicle.
Mendieta and Peralta are now detained at Pasig City Police custodial facility facing charges of robbery holdup and illegal possession of explosives. (By Jhon Aldrin Casinas)
