COTABATO CITY-The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has busted a local drug network based in Lanao del Sur following the arrest on Thursday of a drug ring member who yielded some P3.5 million worth of ‘shabu’ during an entrapment operation in Malabang, Lanao del Sur.
Juvenal Azurin, PDEA regional chief for Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, identified the arrested suspect as Mohammad Timan, 34, a resident of Balabagan, Lanao del Sur, who was nabbed by PDEA operatives and policemen during a drug bust operation in BPS Village, Malabang.
The lawmen seized some 500 grams of ‘shabu’ worth P3.5 million from the suspect who was believed responsible for trafficking illegal drugs in the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao.
“The suspect is a big-time drug trafficker belonging to a local drug network based in Lanao del Sur,” Azurin said.
