Three Grade 12 students from the Caraga Region have come up with a creative research that aims to end the traffic problem.
Ms. Hannah Marielle G. Tecson, Mr. Angelo Mari C. Montero, and Mr. Miko C. Nunez from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) – Caraga Region came up with the project “Feasibility of an Adaptive Timer System in Traffic Management Utilizing Induction Loops.”
The research is a proposed system for a more efficient method of managing traffic in intersections which uses an algorithm that works by counting the number of cars in traffic and determining the appropriate amount of time for the traffic lights to enter the green light phase.
The project won as the Outstanding Creative Research (Sibol Award) for High School against 43 others in the recently concluded Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE) in CARAGA Region.
