Roman Catholics traditionally mark the month of October as the month of the Holy Rosary, which is celebrated in many parts of the country with Marian processions and special acts of devotion in honor of the Blessed Mother including the holding of prayer vigils, novenas, and living rosaries in parish communities and Catholic schools.
Marian devotees also make it a point to pray the holy rosary as often if not every day as a way of expressing gratitude to the Holy Mother for her protection and intercession.
In the country, the observance of the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary on Oct. 7 serves as the highlight of the Holy Rosary month. The event will be marked by Eucharistic celebrations, novenas, and solemn processions. Several festivities in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary such as the La Naval de Manila and the Feast of Our Lady of Manaoag will be held this October.
