‘Basag kotse’ suspect gunned down in Manila 

A “basag kotse” suspect was gunned down by policemen after he allegedly resisted arrest in Malate, Manila on Saturday.

The police said the still unidentified suspect, around 30 to 35 years old with the name “Boy Cadua” tattooed on his chest, slim built and 5’3’’ to 5’5” tall.

Investigation showed the suspect was killed by cops who allegedly caught him breaking the glass window of a Toyota Fortuner parked in front of Harrison Plaza mall in Manila on Sept. 21 at around 1:45 a.m.

Police said the suspect drew his gun and fired at policemen, but missed. The cops returned fire and hit the suspect several times in the body.

The suspect was rushed to Ospital ng Maynila but was declared dead on arrival.

Police said the passenger window of the car was damaged.

Recovered from the crime scene were six .38 caliber bullets, a .38 caliber revolver and a fragment of a 9mm bullet casing. (Erma Edera)

‘Akyat-bahay’ robber shot dead in Marikina

A suspected “akyat-bahay” robber, who reportedly tried to broke into a house, was killed after he allegedly fired shots at responding policemen in Marikina City early Sunday morning.

Col. Restituto Arcangel, city police chief, identified the fatality as Jambeel Dasmariñas, legal age, alias Macmac.

Police said the deceased suspect was an “akyat-bahay” and “salisi gang” member operating in Marikina.

Initial investigation showed that policemen received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a suspicious man roaming outside their house on Oval Street in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina.

The suspect also tried to forcibly enter through the steel gate but abandoned what he was doing when the dog started barking, a police report showed.

Policemen were then deployed to conduct a patrol. Upon reaching the area, they saw the suspect who then quickly ran away.

During a follow-up operation, the operatives located the suspect at his alleged hideout on the side of a creek in Barangay Malanday at around 3:10 a.m.

However, the suspect fired shots at the lawmen when they approached him, police said.

The police retaliated and hit the suspect.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were a loaded caliber .38 revolver and several drug paraphernalia, police said. (Jhon Aldrin  Casinas)

Chinese nat’l nabbed after stealing company’s money in Pasay 

A Chinese man was arrested by police on Sunday after he carted away his company’s money worth more than P500,000 in Pasay City.

The Pasay City Police identified the suspect as Jiang Pu, 19, a Customer Service Representative.

Investigation showed that the complainant, Zhen Xie, 33, discovered that their cash was missing at around 12 noon on Saturday in Pasay City.

According to Xie, the suspect took away the company money last September 18 from their office worth RMB 80,000 equivalent to P560,000 and was only discovered on Saturday.

Police said that the suspect did not report for work anymore. Xie said that someone reported to him that the suspect was seen in Makati City, which led to his arrest.

From Makati City, the suspect was brought to Station Investigation Detective Management Branch office of the Pasay City Police Station for a formal filing of the case. (Dhel Nazario)
