A Swiss national, his Filipina wife, and another suspect were nabbed in a buy-bust operation at Barangay 155 in Caloocan City Monday evening.
Police identified the suspects as Roger Walker, 50; Rebecca Walker, 50; and Regina Tambaque, 46; all residents of the area.
Capt. Jeraldson Rivera, Police Community Precinct (PCP)-1 commander, said Tambaque was working as the couple’s housekeeper.
Investigators said Roger and Rebecca, who were married in Switzerland and have been staying in the Philippines for about three years, are allegedly maintaining a drug den at their apartment at Bagong Barrio in Caloocan City.
However, none of the suspects are included in the police’s or barangay’s drug watch list.
Case probers said they gathered intelligence reports with the help of an informant before joint elements of the Caloocan City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (CCPS-SDEU) and PCP-1 conducted the sting.
The three were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P200 to a poseur-buyer at around 9:30 p.m.
Three sachets of suspected shabu, an unsealed sachet with traces of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked money were retrieved from the suspects.
The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the CCPS-SDEU for proper disposition.
Rivera said they have already informed the Switzerland Embassy about Walker’s arrest and they are now awaiting the results of the suspects’ drug test.
The suspects, who are under police custody, will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
