Every sector of society has a role to play in molding the character of children, an official of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said.
“It is through the best efforts of the government, the church, the families and the society to contribute together to mold a child inside and outside the school and make sure that we are producing individuals who can sustain our aspirations for our beloved nation,” said San Jose Nueva Ecija Bishop Roberto Mallari, chairman of CBCP- Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education, during an interview with church-run Radyo Veritas.
“It is likewise the mandate of the government to ensure that people, especially the youth, get significant access to education in order to succeed in life and participate rightfully in global integration,” Mallari added.
Likewise, the prelate said it is also the government’s mandate “to ensure that public investment goes back to the interest of public welfare.”
Mallari then urged the faithful to give the government a chance to implement its programs that are beneficial to the public.
“Let us give the government a chance to do its mandate and support the building of a just and humane society,” said the prelate.
