64-year-old gunned down while watering plants
A 64-year-old man who was watering his plants was gunned down by his uncle in Pandacan, Manila on Sunday morning.
The police identified the victim as Eduardo Magalona, taxi driver, married and resident of Dapo Street, Pandacan, Manila
On the other hand, the suspect was identified as Arnulfo Gaton, 72, married, Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) and resident of Dapo Street, Pandacan, Manila.
Initial investigation showed Magalona was watering his plants when Gaton fired his 38 caliber gun to the victim’s head at around 8:40 a.m. onAugust 25 along Dapo Street, Pandacan, Manila.
Magalona died on the spot.
Police said after Gaton shot the victim, he also shot himself in his head.
According to Magalona and Gaton’s relatives learned, they held grudges against each other.
Follow up investigation is now underway. (Erma Edera)
House helper nabbed for allegedly stealing
A stay-in house helper was nabbed by police when she allegedly tried to slip away with her employer’s jewelry in her bag in Marikina City on Saturday.
Police identified the suspect as Mary Grace Dolero, 26.
Investigation showed that the suspect left the house of victim Dra. Acel Pauline Ampong last August 18 to attend the Sunday mass.
However, she never returned after that.
A few days later, the 38-year-old physician learned that the suspect was stealing her money, police said.
On Saturday morning, Dolero returned at the victim’s house in Barangay Concepcion Dos, Marikina.
The physician confronted the house helper.
The suspect was about to leave the house after she was dismissed when the victim saw her silver anklet and earrings worth P1,700 inside the suspect’s bag, police said.
Ampong immediately sought assistance from Marikina City Police, who then responded and arrested the suspect.
Dolero was temporarily detained at the women’s custodial facility while appropriate charges were prepared against her. (Jhon Casinas)
Two men electrocuted in Pasay hotel
Two men were injured after they were both electrocuted while fixing at a hotel in Pasay City on Saturday.
The victims were identified as Gerald Danday, 27, electrician and employee of AYG Electrical Contractor and Plenio Bardaje, 24, helper and employee of AYG Electrical Contractor.
Investigation showed that the incident occurred at around 3:30 in the afternoon inside the Electrical Room, at the ground floor of MIDAS Hotel located at along Service Road, Roxas Blvd., Brgy 76, Pasay City.
Police said that the two were installing a circuit breaker when it suddenly exploded.
Danday suffered burns on his face particularly on the eye while Bardaje sustained minor burns.
The two were both rushed to the San Juan De Dios Hospital by his lead man Jerome Cabilin.
Danday is now in stable condition as per the attending physician. (Dhel Nazario)
