A non-uniformed personnel (NUP) of the Philippine National Police was nabbed for shoplifting and possession of illegal drugs while inside a mall in Quezon City over the week.
Arrested was 42-year-old Olivia Cordero who was assigned to Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) and currently residing inside Camp Karingal.
The initial police report showed that Cordero carted away bed sheet, pillowcase and an eco-bag amounting to more than P5,000 from a mall in Cubao around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Security officers of the establishment noticed Cordero about to exit without purchasing the items, prompting them to approach her.
The suspect was brought to the mall’s security office for checking and body frisking. Authorities recovered from her the stolen items while a sachet of shabu inside a reading glass case was also seized.
The security personnel sought help from members of Cubao Police Station who responded and arrested Cordero.
The arrested suspect is now under police custody while cases for theft and possession of illegal drugs were filed against the suspect.
According to QCPD chief, BGen. Joselito Esquivel Jr., they will also be filing an administrative case against Cordero to remove her from the service.
