CAMP GENERAL ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan— A drug suspect was killed while 6 others were arrested during the police operations conducted by Bulacan police the other day.
Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, identified the slain suspect during the buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Pulilan, Bulacan as Joel Tumibay Samia, who is included in the drug watch list of the Bulacan provincial intelligence office.
Police said that after the consummated drug transaction, Samia upon knowing that he was dealing with an undercover agent, fired towards the approaching DEU operatives and hastily run to elude arrest, prompting the operatives to retaliate leading to an exchange of gun fire which resulted in the suspect’s death.
Recovered were 5 heat-sealed plastic sachets of “shabu”, a cal .38 revolver without serial number and buy-bust money.
The 3 other drug suspects were arrested while selling illegal drugs to poseur buyers in different buy-bust operations conducted in the towns of Guiguinto and Balagtas. Confiscated were 6 plastic sachets of “shabu and buy-bust money.
Three more suspects were arrested inside the custodial facility of Guiguinto municipal police station during Oplan Greyhound conducted by the personnel of Guiguinto police. Recovered from the arrested suspects were two medium-sized plastic sachets of “shabu”.
Over the weekend, Bersaluna said, while the government continued its campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality, 6 drug peddlers were killed, while 145 other suspects were arrested.
He said the 107 operations comprising of 67 anti-illegal drug operations, 40 served warrant of arrest, and one Anti-Illegal Logging operation were conducted by the 21 municipalities, three city police stations including the Bulacan 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Bulacan Crime Investigation and Detection Management Group (CIDG).
Bersaluna said, seized were 261 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, 6 sachets of dried “marijuana” leaves; assorted drug paraphernalia, 5 undocumented firearms, and several ammunitions.
The arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination. While appropriate criminal complaints against them are filed in court.
