CAMP GEN. PANTALEON GARCIA, IMUS, Cavite – Three people, including a suspected drug pusher, were killed on Tuesday in two shooting incidents in Barangay San Francisco, General Trias City, the Cavite provincial police reported on Wednesday.
The incidents at Tropical Village-Pabahay, including the encounter involving a local drug enforcement team, happened in a span of seven hours.
The low-cost housing unit area had been the site of several anti-drug operations and arrests and crime shootings in years, police said.
The General Trias police identified the fatalities as Marven Patria, also known as “Melvin,” and Alexander Lumagui Ulgado and Glenn Sierra Magpuri.
Patria died from bullet wounds when he traded shots with the anti-drug-team after resisting arrest at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Among the items recovered from the scene and the ensuing search were Patria’s .9mm pistol with a magazine loaded with five bullets, and 15 small sachets of shabu and a fan knife.
The arresting team was forced to shoot Patria when he drew his gun and fired at them, the report said.
Cpl. Ronald Barbuco Didal, case investigator, said Patria was declared dead on arrival at the General Trias Doctors Medical Center.
Another report said that Ulgado and Magpuri were shot and killed by a still unidentified man at Tropical Village-Pabahay Section B area at 11:30 p.m.
The two victims were both shot in the head and died on the spot. The gunman attacked as they sat on a tricycle in front of a variety store.
