Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda vowed that he will help the nation’s capital in promoting the historical Intramuros as a tourism destination for Japanese tourists.
“I am going to promote the historical trail of Intramuros because it has a Japanese footprint too. It is a magnet for Japanese tourists,”
Haneda said in his courtesy call on Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso at the Manila City Hall on Monday.
The Japanese ambassador said that he was “impressed with the achievements of the City in a short time”.
“You hit the ground running,” he told Domagoso.
Meanwhile, he also invited the Mayor to visit Tokyo and Yokohama soon.
After their meeting at the city hall, Haneda gave Domagoso a white plate with the image of a phoenix as a token. The Mayor also gave
Haneda the symbolic key to the city of Manila.
Haneda was the fourth ambassador to meet Domagoso.
