ILOILO CITY – A policeman, who had been on a drunken stupor when he pulled out his service gun and threatened to harm a superior officer, has been ordered relieved.
No less than Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO-6), ordered the sacking of Patrolman Joerick Ace Ilisan, who is assigned in Pototan town.
Ilisan will also be facing criminal and administrative charges for assaulting Police Major Ronnie Brillo, Pototan police chief and his superior, after a drunken rage early Thursday morning.
The incident took place after Brillo confronted Ilisan, who was caught drinking with Police Corporal Esil Peñarubia inside police station premises.
Brillo, who was not at the police station during the incident as he attended a wake of a dead cop, was physically harassed by Ilisan during the confrontation. The drunken cop became rowdy and even pulled out his gun.
Pamuspusan, who has been the region’s top cop for less than a month, had earlier disclosed that internal cleansing or getting rid of erring cops were one of his top priorities.
