Authorities seized more than P6 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City Thursday morning.
Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, director of the Western Visayas regional police, said six suspected drug pushers were also arrested during the operations in Barangay Alijis and Barangay Banago, both in Bacolod City.
At around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Pamuspusan said his men arrested Ryan Benemile, Chris Kohn Esmedia, Alberto Pastera, and Wegene Nacal in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alijis.
Seized from them were 405 grams of shabu with a street value of P5 million.
On Wednesday afternoon, police also arrested Regina Oro and Sam Aguirre after they yielded 100 grams of shabu with a street value of P1.2 million in a drug bust in Barangay Banago.
“Our anti-drugs operations will be relentless until we are able to stamp out illegal drugs problems in the region,” said Pamuspusan.
The national police leadership has been very aggressive in the campaign against illegal drugs as it sees a direct relationship between crime rate and illegal drugs abuse.
Most of those who are allegedly engaged in criminal activities, particularly robbery, are drug users who want easy money to sustain their illegal drug use.
