An unidentified minor was allegedly abducted Tuesday along Taft Avenue near the corner of Padre Faura Street in Manila.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said that the victim was walking along northbound of Taft Ave. at around 9:30 am when a black Ford Ranger suddenly appeared and forced the victim to board at the corner of Taft Ave. and Padre Faura.
The vehicle then sped toward the northbound direction of Taft Avenue.
A vendor near the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the victim was a boy.
“Batang lalaki yung dinukot nila pero hindi ko nakita kung ilan yung tao sa loob ng sasakyan (It was boy, the one they abducted, but I did not see how many people where inside the vehicle),” he said.
Another witness said the suspect even fired a gun once as the truck sped away.
“Nagpaputok pa yung lalaki bago pumasok sa loob nung itim na sasakyan (The male suspect even fired his gun before entering the black vehicle),” he said.
Police said that all stations and traffic elements were already advised to conduct a dragnet operation.
The MPD also notified the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to conduct a flash alarm to apprehend the suspects.
