Following his resignation as agriculture secretary, Piñol posted an open letter in his Facebook page to thank President Duterte.
Piñol said he was President Duterte’s “soldier”, and believed “that a warrior does not choose the battle fields nor the battle.
“It is not the size of the battlefield or the odds that matters, but it is how you fight to win the battle.” the former DA secretary added.
President Duterte praised Sec Piñol’s honesty and competency, saying he was happy with Piñol’s performance.
The president also expressed his desire to appoint Sec Piñol as Mindanao Development Authority chief.
“I just need him sa Mindanao kasi s’ya ang may alam paano paunlarin lalo na ang Bangsamoro.”
Piñol said he will wait for President Duterte’s decision on where to field him next even as he assured that he will continue his advocacies and work in the Department of Agriculture in the mean time.
He also thanked his friends in the media, but said he will no longer give any statement on the matter.
