Five persons were injured after a wall at a construction site collapsed early Tuesday due to incessant rains in Parañaque City the night earlier.
Victims Filimon Calaglag, 47, Ernesto Temosa, 46 and Raymond Abenoja were immediately brought to the Taguig Pateros District Hospital, while
Glenn, 40 and Evelyn Solares, 42 were taken to the Super Highway Medical Center after they sustained injuries to the body.
According to the Southern Police District, the incident occurred at around 6 am at General Santos Avenue corner Daang Hari, Brgy. San Martin de Porres, Paranaque City.
According to Barangay San Martin De Porres Executive Officer Domingo Obligar, the ground weakened due to the continued rains overnight, causing the wall of RGM construction that was made of galvanized iron sheets to collapse.
One of the victims, Abenoja said that, before the collapse, the ground shook, but they did not mind this because the commuter train of the Philippine National Railways would regularly pass by the area at 6 a.m.
It was when they were resting when the ground began to loosen and give way, according to Abenoja.
