The Department of Education (DepEd) said that the results of the extended Senior High School Voucher Program (SHS VP) Application for School Year (SY) 2019-2020 will be released next week.
DepEd said that the results of the SHS VP application which was extended will be released this June 24, 2019 through the Online Voucher Application Portal (OVAP) at https://ovap.peac.org.ph/. DepEd noted that voucher applicants “must go to OVAP to check if they qualified.” The Qualified Voucher Applicants (QVAs) shall subsequently download their QVA Certificates.
“Online applicants must log in to their accounts, while manual applicants shall use the Search facility on OVAP to check if they qualified,” DepEd said. The QVA Certificate shall be presented by the learner to the private school, or state university or college (SUC), or local university or college (LUC) where he/she plans to enroll for Grade 11.
DepEd noted that the qualified Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation & Equivalency (A&E) and Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) passers “shall follow the same procedure, but to redeem the voucher, they must also present their Certificate of Rating (COR) to the school where they plan to enroll.”
“Only those who took and passed the A&E and PEPT in SY 2018-2019 and are eligible for enrollment in Grade 11 in SY 2019-2020 are qualified to avail of the voucher,” DepEd said.
DepEd said that the SHS VP is a financial assistance program wherein subsidies in the form of vouchers are provided to qualified SHS learners. The Qualified Voucher Applicants (QVA) will receive a subsidy on their tuition and other school fees, the amount of which will depend on the category of the QVA and the location of the school where the students will enroll in.
Based on DepEd Order No. 010, series of 2019 or the “Guidelines on the Application for the Senior High School Voucher Program for School Year 2010-2020” SHS voucher values are as follows (depending on the category of the QVA): P22,500; P18,000; and P11,250 in the National Capital Region (NCR). In highly urbanized cities (HUCs) outside of NCR, the voucher amounts are P20,000; P16,000; and P10,000 depending on the category. In all other locations, the vouchers values are P17,500; P14,000; and P8,750 also depending on the category set by DepEd/PEAC.
DepEd said that the projected enrollment for SHS this SY is 3,087,646 incoming Grades 11 and 12. Of this number, 1,660,993 are expected to go to public SHSs; 1,341,690 will go to private SHSs; and 84,963 will go to SUCS and LUCs.
