Woman killed in collision with car, 14-wheeler truck in Quiapo, Manila

A woman was cut in half after being hit by a 14-wheeler truck in Quiapo, Manila Wednesday.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. in Alfredo Mendoza St., Quezon Boulevard, near Central Market.

According to the initial investigation of the Manila Police District Traffic Division, the woman was a backrider of a motorcycle driven by a male companion. The woman fell from the motorcycle when they collided with a car and run over by a 14-wheeler truck.

The woman and the driver were immediately brought to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The driver was admitted for further treatment.

The motorcycle was found to be registered under the name of Julius Mendoza. However, the police are still to find out the identities of the victims.

Rey Ann Fajardo, driver of the 14-wheeler truck, was brought to the police precinct, while the driver of the car escaped from the scene.
