A total of 1,993 health professionals are set to be deployed to various communities in Calabarzon region.
They are composed of doctors, nurses, midwives, medical technologists, dentists, pharmacists, nutritionist-dietitians, and physical therapists “who will provide support in the implementation of health services for the attainment of Universal Health Care (UHC) in various communities of the region.”
Out of the total number, 324 health workers will be deployed in Cavite, 403 in Laguna, 410 in Batangas, 360 in Rizal, and 496 in Quezon.
“They will be positioned in various local government units of the region to augment the lack of health personnel and also to complement the existing health personnel in health facilities, especially in marginalized and underserved areas and in communities identified as geographically isolated areas,” said Regional Director Eduardo Janairo.
“They will ensure access to essential quality health services at the appropriate level of care,” he added.
