6 robbers killed in Pampanga

By Franco Regala

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Six robbery suspects were killed in separate shootouts with Apalit and Bacolor police, dawn Thursday.

Central Luzon police chief Joel Coronel said two of the suspects were killed during a shootout with a combined team of Pampanga SWAT, Pampanga 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company and Bacolor police shortly after midnight in Barangay Cabetican in Bacolor.

Two cashiers at a gasoline station in Barangay Sta. Ines earlier reported to the police the station was robbed by four men.

Two of the robbers rode a blue Toyota Hi-lux pick-up truck with license plate XTF628 and the other two rode a Yamaha motorcycle.

The robbers took about P5,000 from the gas station, Coronel said. The Bacolor police alerted all its units to search for the suspects in Bacolor and nearby municipalities.

The pick-up truck was intercepted by police on the Pasig Potrero Dike Access Road in Cabetican.

Instead of surrendering, the suspects shot it out with the police, resulting in their death, said Coronel.

The suspects were later identified as Ariel Moguil and Dexter Tinguey, 21.
