Killed were Junrey Bawaan,19; Arnel Selma,18, both residents of Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City; and Windel Montejo, 15, of Toboso.

Maj. Joery Puerto, Toboso police chief, said Bawaan, who was driving the motorbike, was rounding a curve on the road when it smashed into the Vallacar Transit bus on the opposite lane.

Bawaan died instantly while his two companions died at a hospital later from severe injuries.

Puerto said the bus passengers, driver, and conductor were unharmed.

Puerto said bus driver, PG Palarion, 25, of Calatrava town was taken to the police station for investigation.

Jesedith Marquez-Seballos, legal and media relations manager of Vallacar Transit, said the company will assist the driver in case charges will be filed against him, claiming he was not at fault.
