CAMP OLA, Albay – The decomposing bodies of two retired teachers were found Wednesday in San Jose town in Camarines Sur, and police said they were hacked to death after they were robbed.
Major Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, identified the two as Ely Balcueva, 83, and his, Nelly, 86.
Calubaquib said that around 12 noon on June 12, the daughter of the victims, Emerita Balcueva-Chavez, 53, reported to San Jose Municipal Police Station (MPS) that their laborer Teody Villanueva, 48, discovered the bodies inside their residence.
Calubaquib said the killers gained broke into the house by destroying the wooden lock of the kitchen door.
Based on the report of the SOCO team that processed the crime scene, the Balcuevas might have been dead for almost a week.
Cash amounting to P25,762.00 was recovered from the bag of Nelly Balcueva.
Calubaquib said robbery is being considered as a motive in the killing.
The murder weapon has not been recovered by authorities.
The bodies of the victims were brought to a funeral parlor for autopsy.
