The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has apologized for using an inverted Philippine flag for its Independence Day greeting.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, ASEAN posted the greeting with four people holding the flag in an inverted position, with the red side on top instead of the blue one.
An upside down Philippine flag indicates that the country is in a state of war.
The post has been deleted since followed by a quick correction.
“We apologise for the mistake in the previous picture. Your kind feedbacks are highly appreciated,” ASEAN captioned on the corrected post.
