Outgoing Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said Wednesday he has done his part for the betterment of the country and has chosen to be happy during the 121st celebration of the country’s independence.
“Let’s get together so that our country will move forward,” was Estrada’s simple message during the 121st Independence Day Celebration at the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park on Wednesday morning.
Estrada, who will officially vacate his post on June 30, graced the commemoration along with Vice President Leni Robredo.
“I’ve done a good job because I will not last for almost fifty years as a public servant if I did not do good,” he added.
The eighty-two-year-old Estrada urged Manileños to support his successor, former Vice Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso, and all other mayors to be elected after him.
