Peter Joemel Advincula, alias “Bikoy”, has been discharged from the Philippine National Police General Hospital and is now free to leave his detention cell after posting bail for his estafa cases.
“Pinaka priority natin ngayon ay makakuha ng abogado. Kailangan ko ng abogado para sa katotohanan at suportahan ang mga anak ko,” Advincula told DZMM.
Police Colonel Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, said Advincula was released from the hospital early morning and was turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for documentation.
“He was already discharged from the hospital early this morning. He is now undergoing final documentation at CIDG-NCR prior to his release to his relatives,” Banac told the Manila Bulletin.
Police Superintendent Arnold Thomas Ibay, CIDG-NCR chief, said Advincula underwent documentation at 9 a.m.
Around 1: 20 p.m., Advincula was turned over to his younger brother, Joseph, who then accompanied him as he left Camp Crame.
Advincula was hospitalized Friday after complaining of headache and chest pains.
He posted a P24,000 bail for the two estafa cases filed before the Baguio Regional Trial Court.
Advincula was rushed to the PNP hospital on Friday morning after his blood pressure apparently shot up to 130/90.
This happened after he had been presented by the PNP to the media on Thursday where he recanted his earlier statements that President Duterte’s family and close relatives were involved in a massive illegal drug trade in the country.
He had also tagged opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and the Liberal Party (LP) as the brains behind the alleged ouster plot called “Oplan Sodoma.” (with a report from Martin Sadongdong)
