The president of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) on Thursday denied the claims made by Peter Joemel “Bikoy” Advincula that the Liberal Party held meetings in the university to orchestrate “Oplan Sonoma”, or the plot to oust President Duterte.

Father Jose Ramon T. Villarin, S.J., in a statement, clarified that no meeting was convened or organized in the university.

“The University categorically denies insinuations made this morning that it is part of a plot to overthrow the present government of the Republic of the Philippines,” Villarin said.

“It reserved all of its rights to seek redress for any damages which may be brought by such reckless claim and takes seriously the imperative to uphold the rule of law in our democracy,” the ADMU president added.

Advincula earlier made claims that the opposition party, led by outgoing Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, held meetings at ADMU and De La Salle University to plot an ouster against the current administration.
