P2 million shabu seized in Manila drug sweep

Around P2 million worth of shabu was seized in a series of drug busts in Manila last Tuesday.

Seventeen individuals, including three teenagers, were arrested during the operations conducted by the Pandacan Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in Maligaya Street, Kahilum II, Pandacan; Pedro Gil St. corner Quirino, Paco; Mabini St., Ermita; and Arlegui corner Globo de Oro, Quiapo, from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Capt. Pidencio Saballo, Jr., Pandacan SDEU chief, said first to be arrested were six drug suspects in Pandacan who named their suppliers.
The SDEU then proceeded to a hotel in Ermita where they arrested two persons who also revealed they got their source of illegal drugs in Quiapo.
Saballo’s team went to Quiapo and netted three individuals.
Six more were arrested in a separate drug sting.
Recovered were 22 plastic sachets of shabu weighing about 285 grams with estimated street value of P2 million.
