Domogan thanked his supporters and sympathizers who stayed with him during his over three decades in public service.

“I will be leaving you but I will never abandon you,” Domogan told employees of the local government during the regular Monday flag raising ceremony at the city hall grounds.

He assured residents he will always be available to extend whatever assistance they need in his private capacity once his term ends on June 30.

Domogan was elected as a city councilor in 1987 before being elected as the city’s vice mayor in 1992.

He assumed the city’s mayoralty post after the elected mayor, Ramon Labo Jr., was disqualified by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for being a stateless person.

He was also elected as the city’s representative to the House of Representatives in 2001 and completed his three terms before being elected for his second three terms as mayor in 2010.

Domogan wished the winning city officials the best of luck in their bid to serve the people.

He said the city’s electorate again proved that the elections are peaceful and orderly, unlike in other conflict-stricken areas in the country. #MatalinongBoto2019
