A Quezon City court on Wednesday has ordered the arrest of the daughter of Ronnie Dayan the alleged ex-lover and bodyguard of detained Senator Leila de Lima, for failing to attend the hearing in the disobedience to summon case.
Hannah May Dayan was ordered arrested as she was set to testify in the hearing against De Lima in her disobedience to summons case.
De Lima was accused of allegedly instructing Dayan not to attend the congressional hearings on her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade where Hannah May was also involved.
The warrant of arrest order against Hannah May was issued by the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 34 Judge Ma. Ludmila De Pio Lim.
The arrest warrant ordered the sheriff in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan, to bring Hannah May to court.
During the day’s hearing, Hannah May’s counsel, Atty. Heidi Soriano of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) presented in court a medical certificate showing the younger Dayan is three months pregnant and is in sensitive condition.
Hannah May’s camp is set to appeal the issuance of the warrant of arrest.
De Lima is facing charges for allegedly benefiting in the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prisons when she was still the Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary.
