Believing the fight is far from over, the camp of reelectionist Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito has refused to concede as his team waits for the votes coming from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Atty. George Garcia, the senator’s election lawyer, said their hopes remained high as they wait for the votes from other regions.

Ejercito, who is ranked 13th and battling out the 12th spot in the ‘Magic 12’ with fellow incumbent Senator Maria Lourdes Nancy Binay, agreed, saying that he was “quite strong in the BARMM area and Mindanao.”

Ejercito pushed for the passage of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), and allotted budget for Amai Pakpak Medical Center.

“Plus, they like my formula for the Marawi rehabilitation,” Ejercito said, pointing to the rehabilitation efforts following the infamous Marawi siege.

The senator said there is a strong chance he may overtake the 12th spot given that the rest of Mindanao supported President Rodrigo Duterte and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s endorsement, plus the fact there are still voters loyal to his father former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada.

“Slim chance, pero baka dito naipon yung votes ko…Mindanao has been traditionally an Estrada bailiwick,” Ejercito said. #MatalinongBoto2019
