TAGBILARAN CITY – The winning candidates for representatives in the three districts of Bohol were proclaimed on Tuesday following a delay in the canvassing while defective SD cards were sent to Cebu for reconfiguration.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Provincial Election Supervisor Eddie Aba proclaimed Edgar Chatto, Erico Aristotle Aumentado, and Kristine Alexie Tutor as first, second, and third district representatives, respectively.
The proclamation for the position of governor and vice governor has been delayed as there are three towns yet to send complete results to the provincial board of canvassers based here.
Aba said the Comelec sent the SD cards to the sub technical hub in Cebu.
Rojene Tabanera, Comelec’s computer maintenance technologist, explained that the eight SD cards used in the precincts in the towns of Panglao, Sagbayan, and Tubigon were damaged and had to be reconfigured.
Aba said the problem with the damaged SD cards was an unavoidable one.
He said he has asked the Comelec office in Manila to fast-track the reconfiguration of the SD cards.
Aba added he hopes the cards could arrive on Wednesday so that the rest of the winning candidates could be proclaimed.
