About P100,000 worth of high-grade marijuana or kush and marijuana oil used in electronic cigarettes were seized from eight suspects in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Tañong, Malabon City on Wednesday.
P/Col. Jessie Tamayao, Malabon City police chief, identified the suspects as Felix Peloton, 38; Jose Peña, 24; John Rupert Gonzales, 38; Michael Angelo Conzon, 32; Jasper John Sonido, 32; Jhossan Veni Sanchez, 32; Christian Cruz, 38; and Zeus Jino Ong, 29.
Joint elements of the Malabon City Police Station and Police Community Precinct-6 conducted the sting at about 4:30 a.m.
Investigation showed that a poseur buyer bought a sachet of suspected kush worth P1,500 from Peloton and Peña.
Meanwhile, the other suspects were caught by the police examining and comparing sachets of suspected kush.
Retrieved from the crime scene were 16 sachets of suspected kush, three sachets and a plastic pack of suspected marijuana, 23 empty vape cartridges with traces of suspected marijuana oil, five vape cartridges containing suspected marijuana oil, an electronic cigarette containing suspected marijuana oil, and drug paraphernalia.
The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Crame in Quezon City for laboratory examination.
The suspects, who are now under police custody, will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 916 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
