Mayoralty candidate Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has announced that the campaign of their local political party will temporarily stop starting on Wednesday, April 17, in observance of the Holy Week.
Domagoso made the announcement after conducting campaign sorties in Manila’s fifth and sixth districts on Tuesday.
“All of our motorcades, house-to-house sorties and caucuses of the Asenso Manileño political party will be put to a stop starting today in respect and observance of the Lenten season,” Domagoso said.
“This is for the faithful to spend the season with their family, friends and loved ones reflecting on the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ without distraction from political campaigning,” he said.
Meanwhile, Domagoso said the campaign of Asenso Manileño political party will resume Easter Sunday, April 21.
“Let us be reminded of the sufferings and sacrifices our Lord Jesus Christ endured to save us from evil. May the Lord shower our families and loved ones with blessings this Lenten season,” he said.
